A Gathering
... to move, explore and relax.
Come and join us for a long weekend in the beautiful Coolattin Lodge, where you will have a chance to explore your inner space and external environment in the beautiful setting of co Wicklow, just an hour or so from Dublin. Over the course of the weekend, we will explore our bodies and movement though a fusion of Pilates and Yoga, MELT and Nia. This unique combination of classes will allow you to reconnect to your body and learn to release tension and habitual patterning through more natural movement. It is also a chance to rest, breathe and experience stillness.

The Plan
We will be arriving at Coolattin Lodge on the Friday afternoon where we will have a chance to get to know our surroundings and each other. After supper, we will gather together to set the intention for the weekend and explore some gentle movement, stillness and deep relaxation. On Saturday and Sunday, we will begin each day in stillness before breakfast. This will be followed by a two hour workshop and a short break to consolidate before lunch. In the afternoons you will be free to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Lodge. The local area has excellent walking in Coolattin Forest and along the Wicklow Way. If the weather is less than appealing for the outdoors then we will explore some more mindful craft activities in the comfort of the Lodge. After supper, the evenings will allow us to reconnect after our day followed by some gentle stretching and deep relaxation. On Monday we depart the lodge in the morning for Dublin where we have the chance to eat, shop and roam in this beautiful and vibrant city before travelling back to the airport to fly home. |

Nia
Nia is an innovative movement practice which draws on the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts combining the movements and philosophies of dance, Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Yoga, Alexander Technique and the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais. It was developed over 30 years ago as a low impact exercise and as a way of self-healing the body through music and movement. It is truly holistic in that it has been specifically designed to nourish the mind, body and spirit. Many of the aches and pains that are common today are the result of the lack of natural movement. Nia cleverly combats this by moving in 'the body's way' while providing a release for any pent up stress and energy. Nia's catchphrase is "Through movement we find health". Nia is low impact and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and all levels of fitness. |

Meal times are an important part of any retreat. For the Gathering weekend, the food will be whole, fresh, nutritious and tasty. At Coolattin Lodge, the delicious vegetarian food is provided by their very own Ballymaloe trained chef. They use herbs from their own Courtyard herb garden, and when available they also use their own home grown carrots, potatoes, courgettes, apples and other ingredients from the vegetable garden. Menus are seasonal and they also forage in the forestry nearby for wild garlic, elderflower, blackberries and wild raspberries, but don’t worry they don’t forage mushrooms!!
Special dietary requirements such as celiac, gluten intolerance, or vegan can be catered for but please let us know when booking if you do require special meals. |
